Cover: The image is a three-dimensional varied-transparency reconstruction of an MR acquisition of the head made with Vitrea software at the Lucas 3D Imaging Lab. A cut-out is made at an oblique plane that reveals olfactory cortex. Overlaid is odorant-induced activation obtained from a composite image of 8 subjects smelling the odorant vanillin. The activation was visualized using a method that takes into account the rapid habituation that occurs in primary olfactory cortex. We thank L. Logan, A. Sawyer-Glover, and S. Bunge for help in making this image. From N. Sobel, V. Prabhakaran, Z. Zhao, J. E. Desmond, G. H. Glover, E. V. Sullivan, and J.D.E. Gabrieli. Time Course of Odorant-Induced Activation in the Human Primary Olfactory Cortex. J. Neurophysiol. 83: 537-551, 2000.
